How to save space in luggage [Special Tips]

Save Space in your bag!

I’m fond of travelling and I’m considering placing my stuff in travel space bags. I’m checking whether it’s a good option or if it will just make my packing-for-travel more complicated than it should be.

Travel Space Saver Bags

You might have already heard of space bags. It’s the ideal vacuum bag used to maximize storage in homes today.  It is used for most items made of fabric like clothes and linen.  Now, these vacuum bags are not only limited to closets and cabinets.  There are now versions that can be used for travel.

This is perhaps the best solution for those who want to stuff a lot of clothes into their suitcases.   Placing these clothes inside space saver travel bags will compress these clothes and make more room in the suitcase for other items.

Why To Use Space Saver Bags

It makes perfect sense to use space bags for travel. These bags can compactly pack and transport thick and bulky garments such as knits, sweaters, and even your fibre-filled coats. If you have pillows and towels, you can take them as well.

Not only will these help you pack for travel, but you can also bring empty space bags so you can stuff the dirty and/or wet clothes in there.  With this kind of packing, they won’t mix with the clean clothes you still got inside your suitcase and make a mess.

Space bags like these will allow you to place twice as many clothes that you’d like to bring while on travel. Be careful with the weight limit, though; the added baggage might end up making you pay extra for exceeding the weight limit.

Prepare the clothes you are bringing with you, fold them to maximize the space in the bag. Place the clothes inside the space bag but don’t overfill it. Close the bag tightly, pressing a little harder to ensure no air will be let out later on.

Locate the notch on the vacuum-packing cap. Pop it open, and push the cap upwards. After the ‘pop’ sound is heard, a plastic valve should be seen. You can use a vacuum cleaner, or just to sit on the bag to remove the air. One popular method is to roll the bag to expel air and compress it.

Things to remember while using a space bag

Travel Space Bags Let You Bring More. There are various things to remember when you use these space bags. Travel by plane may restrict you to certain weight limits and so you should remember that the bundle of clothes in the bag will end up to be very heavy.

Another thing to remember is that your clothes would be really wrinkled when you get to your location.  You have to make arrangements for ironing services or you can take a travel-sized iron with you.

Children should also not be left with the bag as it can become a hazard to them.  If left unattended, children may place the bag over their heads that can suffocate them and put their life in danger.

Recommended for travelling

I used the space bags to pack my clothes, and voila! The clothes all fit, even leaving space for me to put some of the other accessories I’d like to bring along – there’s more than enough room for my handy travel flat iron.

This is something I’d recommend to everyone who’d like to bring as much stuff as they want during their travels. Just make sure you can still carry your suitcase after you’re done, okay?
